Post-doctorant
Mes recherches portent sur les formulations picturales, leur composition, leurs propriétés physico-chimiques et leur évolution à court et long terme. La peinture est un matériau hybride complexe, né de l’association entre un pigment et un liant. Ses propriétés sont étroitement liées à sa formulation, c’est à dire à la nature des différents constituants, leur mélange, et leurs proportions.
Ma recherche s’articule autour de trois axes qui se complètent et s’enrichissent mutuellement :- Etude des formulations picturales et de leurs propriétés physico-chimiques Des reconstitutions de systèmes modèles basées sur l’étude de livres de recettes, ainsi que leur caractérisation physico-chimique à différentes échelles temporelles et spatiales permettent d’avancer dans la compréhension des pratiques artistiques et de leur évolution. Je m’intéresse plus particulièrement aux formulations de peintures à l’huile incluant des pigments et siccatifs au plomb.
- Analyses in situ des œuvres d’art L’étude des recettes se fait en parallèle, et dans un dialogue continu, avec des observations sur les œuvres d’art. J’étudie à la fois des peintures à l’huile, du XVe au XIXe siècle, mais aussi des cas plus exploratoires et très peu documentés tels que les œuvres himalayennes bouddhistes.
- Développements analytiques L’étude des œuvres nécessite la mise en place d’outils analytiques performants ; permettant des analyses in situ non invasives telles que l’imagerie hyperspectrale (visible et proche infrarouge) et l’imagerie par fluorescence des rayons X.
